Dr. Gaddoor I. Saidi is a chemical engineer with experience in both academic and industrial sectors. An eager student, he obtained graduate and postgraduate degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Southern California, earning a BS in 1978, MS in 1979, and Ph.D. in 1985. As an educator, Dr. Saidi has more than 25 years of experience in teaching chemical, mechanical and environmental engineering at various universities in California.

Dr. Saidi is also an entrepreneur and businessman who has founded and developed several innovative companies. In 2005 he co-founded Halo Automotive International, which specializes in the manufacturing and marketing of auto lights. He is currently still the vice president of Halo Automotive. He also co-founded Mizu in 2009, a company that manufactures and markets auto cooling systems. Dr. Saidi would later go on to co-found the California training firm Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) training in 2010.

Dr. Saidi remains involved in research and consulting and has contributed to several engineering and environmental sciences journals.

In the non-profit sector, Dr. Saidi devotes much of his time to humanitarian efforts and has more than 40 years of community and human development involvement. He is a founding member of many not-for-profit national Islamic organizations in North America including the American Halal Institute (AHI).
